In the Advanced Better Business Writing workshop, participants compose complex documents,
including proposals, procedures, instructions and reports. Participants learn sophisticated
revision and editing techniques.
Training Objective:
Compose & revise complex business messages
Delivery
Flexible: 14 to 24 hours, full or half days
15 participants maximum for individual coaching.
Training Methods
To maximize skills’ transfer, participants write, discuss and rewrite using company messages
and formats. Participants develop their writing skills and learn new strategies by working
on real, work-related writing problems with others, and by analyzing their messages in discussions
with their colleagues and the trainer.
The workshop uses a variety of strategies -- including case studies, multi-media support,
small-group discussion, writing, editing, peer analysis/assessment and learner self-reflection --
designed to appeal to every learning style. The trainer serves as expert facilitator, and learner
feedback is integrated through regular course evaluation.
Workshop manuals are supplied.
Customized course content provides the best learning: through the prior needs assessment, the
facilitator identifies both organizational and individual objectives which form the focus of
the workshops. Examples of company formats and participants’ writing are used throughout the
workshop.
Learning Measurements
Participants receive on-going assessment and evaluation from the expert facilitator. Moreover,
participants assess their own and colleagues' writing according to criteria established by
company decision-makers and themselves.
